Ceramic brackets are often used for orthodontic treatment in adults, as they maintain mechanical strength and color stability over time. However, they may be susceptible to staining. A new study in General Dentistry evaluates the influence of brushing with regular or whitening dentifrices on coffee-stained brackets.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are underdiagnosed in children. In a new study, 193 children were interviewed and examined to explore associations between TMDs and both malocclusion and anxiety. Data were gathered on asymmetries, joint sounds, limitations on mouth opening, parafunctional habits and more.
