The state dental board is a government agency. Dental board members, who are usually appointed to their positions, are assigned with interpreting and enforcing the state dental practice act. Most dental boards cannot change the state dental practice act without a legislative amendment. However, the dental board may interpret the existing state dental practice act as dictated by new procedures and updated information.

State dental board members continue to be a positive influence in the dental community because of their dedication and commitment.
