Researchers recently published a study questioning the effectiveness and safety of water fluoridation based on maternal exposure to fluoride during pregnancy. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) believes that, according to generally accepted scientific research, fluoride remains safe at the concentrations found in optimally fluoridated water and is a community health measure that benefits children and adults.
