Yes, you can receive as many as 150 hours of publication credit toward the Fellowship or Mastership Award for authoring published scientific articles. A combined maximum of 150 CE credit hours from teaching and/or publication activities may be applied toward the Fellowship and Mastership Awards. No, but we request that members report their course verification from non-PACE-approved providers within 60 days of completion. Please note that PACE-approved providers are required to submit member’s CE course attendance verification to the AGD within 30 days.

You can submit your non-PACE-approved providers CE via the AGD’s online CE Submission Form.

It takes approximately 24 hours from the date of your online submission to add your CE to your transcripts once submitted by members or CE providers. Note: PACE-approved providers are required to submit member’s CE course attendance verification to the AGD within 30 days.

Use your online transcripts to monitor your CE activities frequently.  Both the AGD Licensing Transcripts and Award Transcripts list the credits that have been reported to us since you joined.  The AGD Licensing Transcript will let you select a state/province and time frame, so you can easily view CE earned within a specific licensing period. The AGD Award Transcript includes summary pages that that let you see your progress to meeting the award CE requirements. You can view your transcripts under the Manage My CE section of our website.  It is the responsibility of each member to make sure their record is accurate. You can correct an error on your transcript by visiting Manage My CE; from this page, submit the correction via UPDATE CE, or, visit your Licensing Transcript  and click the pencil symbol next to each course. You may also email membership@agd.org or call 888.243.3388.

Written verification from the course provider is required to change the subject code of a course or to change a lecture course to a participation course. Forward written verification to membership@agd.org. 

All continuing education activities must be verified by the CE provider who awards the credit. In most cases the CE provider will either submit the CE course attendance verification to the AGD within 30 days of course completion or members can submit their attendance verification forms via the AGD website. Please note that PACE-approved CE providers are required to submit the CE course attendance verification to the AGD for members. In accordance with AGD Award Guidelines, members can also earn CE credit for the completion of some special activities. These activities include: 

• Publication of scientific articles
• Teaching
• General practice residency (GPR) or advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) programs
• Completion of courses of unusual length (usually 40 hours or more)
• Completion of audio, audiovisual, online and written self-instruction programs (verification of post-test completion)

No, members must still meet the 75 CE credit hour requirement for membership maintenance within their three-year cycle. However, you are no longer required to report your CE in order to maintain membership in the AGD. Instead, a signature on your annual dues invoice or submitting your dues online will serve as verification that you have met the CE requirement. The signature or submission button is preceded by the following statement: “By submitting dues to the AGD, I attest that I have met or will meet the 75 hours of continuing education that is required.”

Generally, we recognize CE credits only from the date you joined. However, under certain circumstances, we grant credit for activities completed before your join date. Recent dental school graduates who joined AGD during the first full calendar year after graduation receive credit for all CE courses taken since graduation.

In addition, if you joined AGD within four years of completing a CODA-accredited AEGD or GPR program, you may be eligible to receive up to 150 CE credit hours toward Fellowship for completing a one-year program, up to 300 hours for completing a two-year program and up to 450 hours for non-concurrent completion of both types of approved programs. Note, hours are awarded on a graduated scale and the longer one waits to join the AGD, the fewer hours they can receive.
