AGD is working to address the most pressing issues faced by our members as we advocate to government entities for general dentists.

The most difficult part of learning how to express emotions effectively is developing the ability to identify what you are feeling. Emotions can disguise themselves. This month, AGD Impact columnists Dr. Eric S. Studley and Dr. Ivy D. Peltz explore how expressing emotions effectively can result in improved relationships.

The AGD Advocacy Fund supports national and constituent advocacy efforts by providing resources to tackle new matters, such as legislation or legal action affecting the practice of general dentistry.

In July, AGD exhibited at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Annual Meeting in Orlando and in August AGD exhibited at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.

On August 7, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) issued a final rule entitled, Dispensing of Narcotic Drugs to Relieve Acute Withdrawal Symptoms of Opioid Use Disorder.

To get recognized as a Fellow, Master or Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition recipient at AGD2024 in Minneapolis, July 17–20, all requirements must be completed and applications submitted on or before Dec. 31, 2023.
