When Hans P. Guter, DDS, FAGD, ran for AGD vice president, the organization was recovering from COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns, searching for an executive director and considering new dues models. Guter was prepared to lead and help guide AGD.

The link between dental erosion (DE) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is well documented, but evidence focuses on patients with established GERD. Optimal exposure to fluoride and calcium from publicly available drinking water is important for caries prevention. A new study in General Dentistry aims to quantify the fluoride and calcium concentrations of samples from water fountains on a university campus and to determine whether external filters affect those concentrations.
