On May 22nd and 23rd AGD leaders from around the country descended on our nation's capital to petition their government on behalf of general dentists. Below are a few attendee highlights.

AGD leaders and congressional legislators come together to address issues related to oral health and the dental profession

AGD is hosting the 2023 Fall Fellowship Review Course at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., Oct. 6–7. The Fellowship Exam will take place the following day, Oct. 8, allowing you to use the information you learned while it is still fresh.

In November 2022, Dr. Monica F. Anderson presented “What Dentistry Teaches Us About Curbing Racism” at TEDxOshkosh in Wisconsin. She explains that “racism is contagious, like tooth decay. Racism is a contagious social cancer, and it is deadly when left untreated.”

Interest is high in bioactive materials because of the role they play in regenerating tissue. AGD Impact Testing the Tools columnist Ross Isbell, DMD, MAGD, of Isbell Dental in Gadsden, Alabama, frequently reviews bioactive materials he tests in his own practice for a variety of applications. For this week’s issue, we highlight a few of his recent reviews.

AGD is working to address the most pressing issues faced by our members as we advocate to government entities for general dentists.

In the latest issue of General Dentistry, Price et al. outline the various applications of artificial intelligence in different dental specialties. Applications range from business functions such as marketing, cybersecurity and report writing to clinical uses such as lesion detection and surgical guidance.
