AGD Welcomes New Associate Executive Director of Membership Programs
The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to welcome Jennifer M. Ver Huel, MBA, CAE, as its new associate executive director of Membership Programs. Ver Huel’s experience, expertise and successes will bring significant attention and energy to several key areas for the AGD.
Ver Huel joins the AGD after serving the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) as the assistant executive director overseeing strategy and execution across the organization, including direct oversight of information technology, project management, membership, meetings, education, and governance. AASM is a 10,000-member organization located in the Chicago area.
Prior to AASM, Ver Huel was at the American Medical Association (AMA) where she served as director, Member Organizations, Involvement & Reporting for the largest physician organization. There she led strategy development, channel management, leveraged state constituent chapters and specialty society relationships to create growth, improve engagement, and expand AMA initiatives. She was a key contributor to turnaround of a decades long membership decline to six consecutive years of membership growth and expanded group members in one year by 4,000 members. In addition, she managed special projects, stakeholder engagement and reporting.
”Jennifer is a team player, strong leader and brings a tremendous amount of experience growing membership organizations like AGD,” said Colleen Lawler, CAE, IOM, executive director at the AGD. “She has a tremendous sense of humor and will be a great partner to the AGD team.”
Ver Huel earned her BA at the University of Illinois at Chicago, her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, attained the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives, and has 25+ years of association manage experience.
