As part of April as Oral Cancer Awareness Month, this issue of AGD Impact features an update from the AGD Foundation on its mission to promote oral cancer awareness. It also includes the latest in oral cancer research from around the world.

All U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration-registered prescribers (Schedule II, III, IV and/or V) must comply with the new Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act, which was included in the omnibus spending bill passed by Congress on Dec. 29, 2022. It requires dentists to complete eight hours of safe prescribing training before renewing or receiving a DEA registration, effective June 27, 2023.
