Description

Modern endodontics is rapidly evolving with new technologies and a growing emphasis on dentin preservation, demanding that clinicians stay current with both mindset and technique. This course combines evidence-based lecture content with hands-on workshops to provide a comprehensive foundation in contemporary endodontic treatment. Topics include risk awareness, diagnosis, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), anesthesia, access preparation, canal location, working length determination, instrumentation, irrigation, and obturation — equipping participants with the clinical strategies needed to achieve more predictable, efficient outcomes. Wellness practices for managing the everyday stressors of endodontic treatment in a busy dental office will also be explored.

Through guided hands-on exercises, participants will apply a 3D approach to root canal therapy using two proven engine driven filing systems, ultrasonics, magnification and single-cone obturation techniques. CBCT interpretation is integrated throughout to enhance visualization of complex anatomy and support sound clinical decision-making. Whether refining foundational skills or tackling more complex cases, attendees will leave with greater confidence, a broader armamentarium, and practical tools to elevate the standard of endodontic care in their practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the latest technology, armamentarium, and concepts relevant to modern endodontic treatment, including CBCT interpretation and rotary instrumentation systems.
  • Apply safe and effective techniques for access preparation, canal location, and 3D instrumentation to improve clinical predictability.
  • Demonstrate effective irrigation and chemical debridement protocols based on anatomical and clinical principles.
  • Practice 3D obturation using single-cone techniques and placement of a reliable coronal seal.
  • Identify wellness strategies to reduce stress and maintain focus during endodontic treatment in a dental practice setting.
