Description

Can we safely and comprehensively treat patients with special healthcare needs (SHNs) and medical complexities in our private practices? Yes, and here is how:

  1. Many patients with SHNs continue seeing their pediatric dentist well into adulthood; pediatric dentists are looking for GPs to transition their care, too!
  2. Most patients with SHNs and seniors with medical complexities get referred to hospital centers, where care could be delayed for months, if not years, causing simple, preventive issues to become more complicated. Research shows many of these patients could have avoided the hospital if timely intervention was provided at a private practice.
  3. GPs treating this patient population report higher career satisfaction and stronger team retention than their peers who do not.

Providing comprehensive care to patients with SHNs and those with medical complexities can be a life-changing opportunity for GPs. Learn how to get started.
