Description
This course will show how easy it is to free yourself from the constraints of a lab. We will look at the manufacturing process of models, nightguards, surgical guides and retainers. We will also look at milling all ceramic and zirconia crowns and finishing them. We will demonstrate how easy it is to fix problems that, in the past, would have taken two weeks and required being sent back to the lab.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate an understanding of the 3D-printing process and design.
- Learn about crown design, manufacturing and polishing.
- View a brief demonstration of staining and esthetic fixing.
Speaker Bio
Katie Reuther attended the Marquette University School of Dentistry on a scholarship for the U.S. Navy. After dental school, she honed her dental skills serving her country. She was stationed at the Marine Corp Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina. She moved to Guam and was stationed on the USS Frank Cable for two years. She then transitioned out of the military from Millington, Tennessee. After the Navy, Reuther worked for a dental services organization for seven years. In 2020, she purchased a solo doctor office. This transition has allowed her to embrace the latest technology in dentistry. Her personal life is no less boring. She and her husband have five kids. They enjoy camping, hiking and biking. They hope to eventually visit all of our nation’s national parks. So far, they have been to: Arches, Rocky Mountains, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Dry Tortugas, Smoky Mountains and the National Seashore. Reuther also enjoys nature photography, both landscapes and wildlife.
