HRSA Opens PRF Reconsideration Process for ARP Rural/Phase 4 Payments
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) opened the Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Payment Reconsideration Process for American Rescue Plan (ARP) Rural and Phase 4 payments on February 1, 2022 for a period of at least 45 days. The PRF Reconsideration Process allows providers to request payment reconsideration if they believe their payment was calculated incorrectly. It does not allow providers to submit an application for a missed deadline or to revise or correct their original applications. Details regarding the reconsideration application can be found on HRSA’s PRF website. PRF recipients can also contact the Provider Support Line for assistance at (866) 569-3522.
HRSA has administered a total of $11 billion of Phase 4 PRF payments to more than 74,000 providers nationwide. ARP Rural payments issued by the agency have totaled $7.5 billion to more than 43,000 providers. PRF funding is distributed to eligible providers who care for individuals with COVID-19 or have health care related expenses and lost revenues attributable to COVID-19. ARP Rural payments help address the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has had on rural communities and rural health care providers. Funding through the two programs has allowed recipients to remain in operation and provide critical services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Impact on General Dentistry: AGD appreciates HRSA’s continued assistance in helping providers receive funds through ARP Rural and the Phase 4 PRF. HRSA staff are available to provide real-time technical support, as well as service and payment support related to ARP Rural and the PRF from 8am – 10pm CT, Monday – Friday at (866) 569-3522. Additional information and FAQs are available on HRSA's Provider Relief Fund Portal.
