Virginia AGD Hosts First Senior Social
This spring, the Virginia AGD was pleased to offer the 2018 graduating class of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry an opportunity to network with current AGD dentists and learn more about post-graduation AGD benefits. Membership Director and VCU Dental alumna Jeena Devasia, DDS, organized the April 24 social at a local Richmond restaurant selected by the senior class. Senior students preparing for graduation were invited to join Devasia and the rest of the Membership Committee for complimentary appetizers and drinks. The evening provided the perfect opportunity for board members to connect with students.
As part of the Membership Committee initiative to encourage student members to become full-dues-paying members, the social aimed to reach students before graduation and hear their concerns. The event was preceded by a lunch-and-learn at VCU reviewing the highlights of membership, including upcoming events and how to be involved on both local and national levels. The Membership Council plans to host the event again in 2019.
