Meet Ravi Shankar Sinha, DDS
Ravi Shankar Sinha, DDS
Region 11
Ravi Shankar Sinha, DDS, is the Regional Director of Region 11, which comprises Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Currently, he serves as the RD Chair.
Sinha graduated from the Ohio State University in 1999. Following graduation, he moved to Portland, Oregon, to begin his private practice. He was motivated to become more involved in the AGD after interacting with his WA AGD mentors during the organization’s orthodontic training program. He believed that to make a difference, big or small, one has to be engaged or involved in the organization. He is an Oregon AGD past president and still serves as member/advisor to OAGD. Leaders have a lot of responsibilities because they represent the dental profession. Therefore, Sinha's aim is to advocate for general dentists from the state to national level, enhance communication in the digital age, increase membership representation, and have great education for general practitioners. He likes to use the acronym ACME — advocacy, communication, membership and education.
Sinha practices with his wife, who is also a dentist in Portland. He has devoted a lot of time to helping his community — participating in high school drug prevention programs and providing dental care and screenings in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and the Hispanic community. He enjoys spending time with his two teen children.
