In Arizona, SB 1377, which sought to establish dental therapists, failed to pass out of the House Health Committee on a 4 - 5 vote. The bill had previously passed the Senate. Testimony for the committee hearing can be viewed here.

In Kansas, a dental therapist bill, SB 312, was heard by the House Health and Human Services Committee. The bill provides for direct supervision of dental therapists when carrying out certain procedures.

In Alabama, SB 180 has passed both chambers. The bill requires any public water system seeking to make changes to the level of fluoridation status of its water supply to provide written notice to the State Health Officer no fewer than 90 days before the change is implemented.
