Thursday, July 10 | 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Speaker: Timothy Hess, BSc, DDS, MAGD
Dental students, residents, and new dentists come from diverse backgrounds. Dental students and residents can often move through their dental school curriculum in a vacuum to what future employers are looking for in an associate. Dental technology and techniques are advancing faster than dental schools can keep pace with. Students, residents, and new dentists need to look for additional CE opportunities that fill the gaps in their education prior to and early after graduation.
The economics of dental practice are getting tougher and tougher for dental practice owners. Simply put, employers are asking “What value can an associate bring to their practice?”
This brief lecture will guide what skill sets and extracurricular education dental students, residents, and new dentists need to pursue if they wish to increase the interest of future employers.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the limitations of dental school education in a rapidly changing profession.
- Discuss what key skill sets the new graduate needs to be competitive in a tough employment market.
- Explain how to obtain these key skill sets prior to or shortly after dental school graduation.
