AGD leadership recently met with Adam Barefoot, DMD, MPH, chief dental officer at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), for its quarterly meeting to discuss oral health initiatives. AGD continues to be a chief advocate in Congress for HRSA’s oral health literacy program, A Healthy Mouth for Every Body. These materials are available for AGD members to download and use in their office, and the campaign has just been translated into Spanish. AGD lobbied to expand funding for the campaign during Hill Day in May 2024.  

AGD meets regularly with officials from HRSA, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and on Capitol Hill to advocate for the interests of general dentistry.
