“Making the Perfect ‘Sandwich”

Ever wonder why the same restorative material or technique works for some patients but not for others? If so, you’re not alone. Today’s adhesive technology enables dentists to provide restorative care with minimal invasiveness and stunning esthetics, but the complexity of the materials and the clinical variables that affect their performance is often underappreciated. This presentation will provide attendees with a path through the hype with, practical, evidence-based tips for maximizing restorative predictability. Learn lots of clinical tips, including the Sandwich Technique – combining the best properties of composite resin and glass ionomer to place posterior composites more efficiently while eliminating post-op sensitivity!

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES/BENEFITS TO ATTENDEES:

1. Understanding the limitations of resin adhesion to dentin and the commonly-encountered clinical variables which can produce sub-optimal adhesion.
2. Reduced confusion when selecting from the vast array of adhesive dental materials.
3. Improved clinical results through better understanding of material properties, interactions, and limitations.
