Speaker Biography
Dr. Jay Gerber is the founder and educational director of the Center for Occlusal Studies in Parkersburg, WV, and is currently the Director of Neuromuscular Orthodontics at LVI Global in Las Vegas, NV. Dr. Gerber has lectured in the USA and internationally at numerous symposiums, conventions and at distinguished universities since 1984 on the subjects of functional jaw orthopedics, straight wire type orthodontics, TMD diagnosis and treatment, dental radiology, physical modalities, neuromuscular functional occlusion and bio-electrical instrumentation. Dr. Gerber’s orthodontic philosophy includes a non-extraction, early interceptive approach. He believes in a profile that includes a full broad smile using fixed appliances necessary to control treatment outcomes. He also understands the importance of a stable and long-term occlusal result with normal TMJ function. Dr. Gerber is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and numerous orthodontic and TMD related associations. He currently serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Orthodontics and reviews articles for The Journal of Craniomandibular Practice. In addition, he has published numerous articles, manuals and instructional videos. Dr. Gerber is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry.
