In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic CDC interim guidance for infection and prevention control (IPC) has been updated several times over the past year. OSHA has provided guidance and reinforced relevant regulations as well. Emphasis on respiratory precautions, enhanced patient health screening, ventilation and modification of certain procedures have all been part of our “new normal”. This webinar will provide a refresher of the IPC precautions dental professionals should follow today and indications for future guidance to ensure patient and provider safety during every patient visit. Resources for implementation and evaluation of an IPC program will be described. 

At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

• Describe relevant IPC CDC guidance and OSHA regulations for dental settings
• Differentiate standard precautions, droplet precautions, and airborne precautions
• Identify elements of an IPC program to ensure patient and personnel safety
