Academy Recognized for Customer Service and Top Corporate Leader

The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) has been recognized for excellence in leadership development with two 2018 LEAD awards from HR.com in two categories: Best Customer Service Leadership Training Program for “The Academy@theAcademy” and Top Corporate Leader Award (Over 35) to Head of Human Resources, La June Davis-Wiley, SPHR, SHRM-SCP. The LEAD Award is a program of HR.com, and the awards are presented to individuals and organizations who have demonstrated excellence in global leadership development programs that explore innovation and best practice. AGD is recognized among other employers who have implemented or internally developed these programs to support, grow and sustain their teams.

In 2017, AGD unveiled its “The Academy@theAcademy” program as a dual-track leadership training program offered onsite to all staff. The program offers a three-part certificate training opportunity for its staff and management team. The goal of the program is to offer customer service and professional development skills to all AGD staff members.

Davis-Wiley was nominated and recognized for her track record of planning training and development systems at AGD that advance the mission of the organization. With over 20 years as a professional in human resources and operations, she identified opportunities at AGD to support staff needs with a high-impact and low-cost program. During her two years at AGD, she has implemented numerous employee engagement programs. In order to enhance the customer service AGD staff members provide its membership, the human resources team creates opportunities to support the organization’s diverse workforce.

“This is a tremendous honor to be recognized among other leaders in organizational development, training by HR.com and the LEAD awards,” said Max G. Moses, JD, CPA, MBA, executive director of AGD. “Similarly, we are extremely proud of the work of La June Davis-Wiley and the contributions she has made to help our team members reach their potential and enhance our workforce.”

The awards will be presented at the LEAD 2018 conference, Feb. 7-8, 2018, in Salt Lake City.
