This case report describes management of giant keratoacanthoma of the lower lip in a 62-year-old white woman. Keratoacanthoma may present features similar to those of squamous cell carcinoma, and careful attention is required to avoid an incorrect diagnosis.

Push-out shear bond strength testing found that the combination of 5.25% sodium hypochlorite irrigant and RelyX U100 cement generated a significantly lower mean fiber post–root dentin bond strength than other combinations of irrigating solution (2.5% sodium hypochlorite or 2% chlorhexidine) and resin cement (RelyX ARC or Panavia F).

The compressive strength, flexural strength, and flexural modulus of 4 pulp-capping materials (TheraCal LC, Biodentine, mineral trioxide aggregate, and calcium hydroxide) were evaluated over time. At all time periods, TheraCal LC had the greatest compressive and flexural strengths. After 3 and 24 hours, Biodentine had the greatest flexural modulus.

In 23 healthy patients and 21 patients with moderate to severe periodontitis, oral hygiene instruction (both groups) and mechanical periodontal instrumentation (patients with periodontitis) improved clinical periodontal parameters and promoted a reduction in carotid intima-media thickness at 6 months.

Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome (SGBS) is a rare X-linked recessive overgrowth disorder with prominent craniofacial findings. This case report describes a previously unreported dental anomaly, macrodontia, in a patient with SGBS, which may broaden the phenotype of this syndrome.
