New Hampshire AGD Members-

Governor Chris Sununu recently signed HB 1639 into law – legislation which addresses non-covered dental services, among other health care-related issues. New Hampshire has now joined nearly 40 other states in enacting such laws, which prohibits dental insurers from setting service fees to providers for services that are not covered under patient plans.

We are pleased with the passage of this bill and the benefits it will bring to New Hampshire dentists. The collaboration between the New Hampshire Dental Society and insurance community to advocate for this legislation, including the support of Northeast Delta Dental, resulted in overwhelming, bipartisan support in the State Legislature and its ultimate passage.

The new law will go into effect on January 1, 2021. If you have any questions on this legislation, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or AGD Advocacy at advocacy@agd.org.

Sincerely,

Jean-Paul (JP) Rabbath, DMD, MAGD
