Description
This course will equip practitioners with specific and simple protocols that will provide competence and confidence in placing dental implants and achieving optimal restorative outcomes. Simple and cost-effective socket grafting will be discussed in preparation for surgical placement of dental implants.
Learning Objectives
1. Learn predictable atraumatic extraction techniques that preserve the bone and soft tissue.
2. Learn protocols for socket preservation, including flap design, bone grafting, membrane placement and suturing.
3. Understand the importance of attached gingiva around implants and how to achieve it.
4. Understand principles for successful immediate implant placement.
Speaker Bio
Timothy F. Kosinski, DDS, MAGD, is an affiliated adjunct clinical professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He is the editor of the AGD publications General Dentistry and AGD Impact and editor of Implants Today, the implant publication of Dentistry Today. He received his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy and MS in biochemistry from Wayne State School of Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Master of AGD. He has placed over 19,000 dental implants and published 290 articles.
