COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of our lives as general dentists, including our offices, teams, families and communities, creating uncertainty and anxiety about the future. AGD has developed a series of webinars to help answer questions about the impact of the virus on general dentistry.

Description: This webinar will address dental safety issues during the COVID-19 outbreak. The science of COVID-19 and infection control strategies will be discussed in the context of risk assessment, patient screening and treatment, and crisis-related adjustments in protocol.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to recognize risks, symptoms and features of COVID-19.
  • Understand the current dental guidelines on infection control.
  • Identify best practices for providing dental care during the COVID-19 crisis.

Speaker Biography: Nancy Dewhirst, RDH, BS, is an adjunct dental hygiene professor at West Coast University. She is a member of the California Dental Association and the Catapult Elite and Organization for Safety Asepsis and Prevention speakers bureaus. She has been published in peer-reviewed dental journals and textbooks.
