In Arizona, HB 2355 was passed by the House and transmitted to the Governor on May 3, 2018. HB 2355 became law after the five day deadline was passed for the Governor to veto the bill. The law provides for the licensure and practice of dental therapists statewide, and allow them to practice under the general supervision of a dentist, anywhere in the state.

In CaliforniaAB 3087 is currently pending in the Assembly. The bill seeks to regulate commercial payment rates for health care providers by creating a Health Care Cost, Quality, and Equity Commission. The Commission would set the amounts accepted as payment by health care providers and health plans, and would be comprised of 11 members, nine of whom would be appointed by the Governor.
