
An in vitro study comparing the quality of the marginal seal when different materials and bonding techniques were used to restore endodontic access cavities in zirconia cylinders found that glass ionomer cement provided inferior microleakage prevention. Direct composite resin restorations and zirconia inlays offered favorable results, and aluminum oxide air abrasion of the zirconia surfaces showed the potential to enhance marginal seal.
