“I am extremely grateful to have been selected as student delegate for the 2024 AGD House of Delegates (HOD). Attending the meeting allowed me to explore how organized dentistry is able to function on behalf of its members. I had the opportunity to network with practicing dentists, state leaders and other students. Each day consisted of sessions that engaged the legislative process, whether in delegate voting sessions, the regional caucuses or reference committee meetings.  The meetings were very informative, and I felt my voice was heard as I had the opportunity to share my lived experience and work to empathize with others' experiences. Getting involved with meetings like the HOD is imperative for professional development for students, and the icing on top of the cake is the wonderful city of Chicago! I highly recommend this for future student delegates, and I look forward to the work the AGD will accomplish during my career.”
