Treatment of squamous cell carcinoma in the oral cavity often involves surgical excision that brings serious changes to the patient’s quality of life. A new case report describes the treatment of a 56-year-old man who underwent total glossectomy. Tongue prostheses were able to improve speech, swallowing, self-esteem and social reintegration.
