Senate Passes AGD-Supported Resolution to Promote Health Care Workforce Well-being
On March 20, 2024, the Senate passed S.Res.567, a bipartisan resolution to designate March 18, 2024, as the inaugural "Health Workforce Well-Being Day of Awareness." It was originally introduced on February 28, 2024, by Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Roger Marshall (R-KS). AGD supported the resolution, which recognizes the widespread issue of health care provider burnout and the need to improve the health and well-being of the health care workforce. It supports creating a positive work culture, investing in research and strategies to support workforce well-being, increasing access to mental and behavioral health services, and reducing administrative burdens on health professionals.
Representatives Debbie Dingell (MI-06), Susan Wild (PA-07), and Jen Kiggans (VA-03) introduced a House companion resolution.
