AGD recently signed onto a letter with other leading dental associations urging the Senate to pass legislation mirroring the tax bill recently passed by the House of Representatives, H.R.7024, the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024. This tax bill enhances small business tax breaks, such as raising the cap on expensing depreciable business assets, including property, and permitting a tax deduction for experimental and research expenses. AGD expects the letter will be sent to the Senate shortly.

The legislation, H.R.7024, is available here.

Impact on General Dentistry: The small business tax policies passed by the House are crucial to the continued success of independent dental practices. AGD applauds the House for passing legislation that will meaningfully impact small businesses and urges the Senate to do the same. We will continue updating AGD members on the status of this legislation.
