“It was an honor to be chosen to represent the voice of dental students at the 2023 AGD House of Delegates as the two student alternate delegates. Activities that we participated in included the House of Delegates session, Reference Committee meetings, Candidates Forum, Region 19 Caucus meeting and President’s Reception. It was incredibly eye-opening to be able to experience advocacy within organized dentistry, discuss amendments to the AGD Constitution and Bylaws, participate in parliamentary procedure, meet outstanding leaders within the AGD organization as well as network with many dentists across the nation. The benefits of being a part of a meeting like this far exceeded our expectations, and knowing there is an entire community of dentists committed to growing together as the field of dentistry continues to transform is invaluable. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be involved within the AGD organization at the student chapter, state, regional and national levels and aim to continue to spread our passion for general dentistry in both dental school and beyond.
