Associations Between TMDs with Malocclusion and Anxiety in Children and Adolescents
Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are underdiagnosed in children, although identifying temporomandibular joint problems early is key to prevention of serious issues in adulthood. In a new study, 193 children were interviewed and examined to explore associations between TMDs and both malocclusion and anxiety. Data were gathered on asymmetries, joint sounds, limitations on mouth opening, parafunctional habits and more.
