Academy of General Dentistry Provides Comments to the Food and Drug Administration
The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) recently submitted comments to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in response to the discussion paper, 3D Printing Medical Devices at the Point-of-Care, published by the agency in December 2021. According to the FDA, the discussion paper highlights the agency’s perspectives on the pros and challenges of 3D printing at hospitals and other points of care. The paper hints at the possible move by the FDA to require regulatory oversight. The AGD determined that it was appropriate to respond because 3D printing is used by some general dentists at the point-of-care in their practices. Read letter
