A Legislative Win: Repealing the Medical Device Tax

Jan20_Advocacy_180x142_BOXThe Senate has passed a 2020 spending bill that includes a permanent repeal of the Medical Device Excise Tax. The bill is now awaiting President Trump's signature.

Repeal of the Medical Device Excise Tax has been an AGD policy priority. In June, AGD submitted a letter to the Senate Finance Committee's Health Task Force explaining how the inequitable burden the tax would place on manufacturers, importers and producers of dental devices would likely be passed on to providers and patients. Additionally, AGD issued an action alert in November, prompting members to write hundreds of letters to their legislators, asking them to repeal the tax.

AGD would like to thank you for your support in this effort!
