Updated Term
The AGD PACE Council recently updated the PACE definition of “Commercial Interest/Commercial Entity” in the PACE Lexicon of Terms found in the PACE Guidelines. This is the current definition:
COMMERCIAL INTEREST/COMMERCIAL ENTITY: Any proprietary entity producing health care goods or services, with the exception of non-profit or government. AGD PACE does not consider providers of clinical service directly to patients to be commercial interests, unless the provider of clinical service is owned, or controlled by, an AGD PACE-defined commercial interest.
Approved providers are encouraged to review the PACE Lexicon of Terms to avoid confusion. The PACE Lexicon of Terms defines how terms will be used in relation to continuing dental education. Approved providers should familiarize themselves with these definitions to ensure complete understanding of the information found in the PACE Guidelines.
