Virginia AGD Hosts MasterTrack Community Happy Hour
The Virginia Academy of General Dentistry (VAGD) hosted a happy hour for the MasterTrack community following its MasterTrack course on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Bayview Dental Laboratory/Mid-Atlantic Center for Advanced Dental Study.
The MasterTrack weekend included a day and a half of hands-on learning in the areas of pediatrics and special patient care. The happy hour was held immediately following the first day’s course led by Carla Cohn, DMD. It was organized to boost awareness and interest in Virginia AGD’s MasterTrack program in a new part of the state. After four years of successful MasterTrack programs in Northern Virginia, Virginia AGD has expanded its reach to dentists in the southern part of the state.
Following the course, attendees and local doctors enjoyed appetizers and drinks amidst the beautiful gardens at the Mid-Atlantic Study for Advanced Dental Study, maintained by owners and gracious hosts Buddy and Rick Shafer.
The happy hour was made possible due to AGD mini-grant funds. The funds enabled members to participate in continuing education courses, build camaraderie and create lifelong friendships. As a result, Virginia AGD was able to provide members more of what makes the organization fun. The Virginia AGD used the remaining funds to host another MasterTrack community happy hour following its Fall MasterTrack in Reston, Sept. 28.
