Description

As implant therapy continues to grow exponentially, so do its corresponding complications. Peri-implantitis is the most common, resulting in significant challenges and long-term issues, which, if untreated, can lead to implant failure. This course will take a closer look at what makes peri-implantitis such a complex problem to manage and how to minimize risk using various diagnostic and clinical markers along with saliva testing.

Speaker Bio  

Sam Shamardi, DMD, earned his dental degree at Tufts University and his periodontal certificate at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery and practices full time while teaching part time at the Harvard Division of Periodontics. Shamardi lectures nationally and internationally on topics within periodontics, hearing loss in dentistry, finance, nonsurgical maintenance, and more, and he has published multiple articles. He is a member of the prestigious Catapult Education Speakers Bureau and is recognized as a dental entrepreneur for his revolutionary EarAid product. He is also the author of “The Financial Survival Guide for Dentists,” a book geared toward helping early-career dental professionals establish a foundation in the business aspects of their careers. In his spare time, Shamardi enjoys traveling and supporting his favorite sports team, Real Madrid.
