Description

Diabetes and periodontitis have a bidirectional relationship, wherein poor glycemic control aggravates periodontal disease, and periodontal inflammation worsens insulin resistance. Periodontal therapy can improve glycemic control, highlighting the need for integrated dental and medical care.

Speaker Bio  

Moitri Ojha, BDS, MDS, is an assistant professor (periodontology) at SMBT Dental College & Hospital, with strong academic and clinical expertise in periodontology. She holds a BDS and MDS (periodontology) and is currently pursuing a PhD. She has authored multiple publications and patents and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several journals. She has chaired scientific sessions at conferences, received multiple awards and is committed to continuing dental education.
