Description

Sleep is a significant component of healthy growth and development in pediatric patients. In this lecture, Ryan David Cormack, MSc, DMD, will discuss how the dental team is in a good position to identify some of the signs and symptoms of sleep-disordered breathing in young patients and the consequences this can have on patients’ oral health. He will also share case studies and discuss the benefits and limitations of expansion appliances in the primary and mixed dentition to help address this prevalent problem.

Speaker Bio  

Ryan David Cormack, MSc, DMD, completed his dental degree in 2011 at the University of Manitoba. Prior to dentistry, Cormack received a BSc Honors degree from the University of Winnipeg and a master’s degree in genetics from the University of Lethbridge. He has taught dentistry at the University of Manitoba Dental School and its affiliated Smile Plus Community Clinic.
