Speaker Biography
Dr. Rhonda Switzer, executive director of the Interfaith Dental Clinic, is a general dentist who has spent her career providing care for the uninsured and underserved. After graduating from the dental program at the University of Manitoba, she completed a residency at the VA hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She then accepted a position treating the Inuit population at a fly-in clinic in sub-arctic Canada. After moving to treat the poor in Bermuda for a year, Dr. Switzer moved to Nashville and became the first employee of the Interfaith Dental Clinic. In her 18-year tenure, she has grown the clinic from a two-chair operation in a church basement to a fully comprehensive, 15-chair operation with 32 staff and more than 300 volunteers. The clinic provides comprehensive care to 2,100 patients a year.
